Known as “Baby trek” due to lower altitude or the passes and less walking hours comparatively. During this trek you can visit monasteries of Likir, Rizong, Lamayuru, Alchi and Palace of Temisgam. This is a village to village trek and you can see some typical Ladakhi villages with few houses.

Day 01 : Arrival Leh

Arrival Leh, Wisdom representative will meet, greet, assist and transfer you to Hotel in Leh. Rest of the day free to acclimatize to the high altitude of Ladakh. Overnight at Hotel in Leh.

Day 02 : Sightseeing around Leh

Morning at leisure or explore the nearby places on foot. Post lunch visit Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace and Jokhang and Local Bazaar. Overnight at Hotel in Leh.

SHANTI STUPA (Japanese Peace Pagoda) : Shanti Stupa/Japanese peace pagoda is build by a Japanese religious organization headed by Head monk Nakamura with the help from the organization and local people. It is situated at a hill top in Cahngspa village providing a bird eye view of the Leh town and the surrounding mountain peaks. Architecturally it has the Japanese touch with small clean rooms on the side for meditators and the main Japanese shrine at the entrance.

LEH PALACE : The Namgyal Tsemo (victory Peak) was build by King Tashi Namgyal after the reunification of upper and lower Ladakh and victory over Hor and their bodies are placed under an image of Mahakala, the guardian deities to stop further invasion of Hor. The Leh palace known as ‘Lechen Palkhar’ was built by Singay Namgyal around in the beginning of 17th Century A.D. The nine-storied palace is now deserted, and the ASI (Archeological Survey Of India) has taken up the renovation work.

JOKHANG : the Ladakh Buddhist Association in 1957 built the small Gonpa opposite to SBI and known as Jokhang in the main bazaar, which is open throughout the day for visitors. The Gonpa contains statue of Joyo Rinpoche (crowned Buddha).

Day 03 : Likir to Yangthang (3,700M) 05:30 Hrs.

Early morning after breakfast at the camp, start the trek towards south through trail behind the monastery, amidst wheat fields. After a walk for 20 minutes, you come down to the rough Motorable road to Hemis Shukpachan. Ignore the road and walk through the trail down the road along with Stupas west word.

The easy ascent starts, from here which leads you to the top of the small pass “Chagatse La” (3,700M). Again leave the road on your right and walk through the trail down and up to the road. From here you can have the view of a hamlet called Saspotse. Walk towards the village leaving the road on your right hand side. The village is reached after crossing a river. Take the trail behind the village through a small gorge which takes you to “Phobe la” pass (3,849M). You can have the view of Yangthang village from here.

After a walk for 10 minutes through the road you arrive to the camping site. There are two Camping site; one near the school which has good view of the village and the peak and has toilet facilities. The next one is near the river amidst poplar plantation without toilet.

Day 04 : Yangthang to Rizong-Yangthang: (06 Hrs)

Start the trek walking through village houses and along the river through the gorge with plantation of Apricot and Apple. After walk for an hour through the gorge, you reach on a rough Motorable road which enters into another gorge to your right hand side. It takes around 30 minutes before you will have the view of Rizong monastery. Rizong is the most isolated monastery of all the monastery of Ladakh. There is no entry fee in this monastery, you can offer whatever you can. After the visit of the monastery, you can also visit the monastery kitchen and have a cup of butter tea After the visit trek back to Yangthang. The way back to Yangthang is the same. There is a short way to go to Hemis Shukpachan from behind the monastery through a steep pass.

Day 05 : Yangthang to Hemis Shukpachan (3596 M)-02 Hrs.

Today is a shorter walk if you want to camp at Hemis Shukpachan village. Yu can also walk upto Temisgam or viilage of Ang before Temisgam which takes around6-7 hrs. As soon as you cross the river, the climb of the Phobe La (4,000 M) starts, which takes around 01 hour to reach the top of the pass. After another hour or half you reach Hemis Shukpachan. Overnight camp.

Day 06 : Hemis Shukpachan to Temisgam 5-6 Hrs.

After an easy walk for an hour you will start climbing Meptak La. After the pass you reach Ang village near the river. After crossing the river you can walk down to Temisgam village. The camp is near the road. We can visit the Temisgam Palace, monastery and Nunnery. Overnight camp.

Day 07 : Temisgam to Khalse 2-3 Hrs.

Walk towards Tia along the road for sometimes and then cross the river. After walking for a few minutes you will start climbing the Bongbong La. Then you reach the Leh-Srinagar highway. You can walk upto Khalse along the road otherwise your trek finishes here. Drive to Leh.

Day 08 : Airport Departure

Leave on time for Leh airport to board your flight to Delhi.
